Day 20 of 21 none stop days over and done with. On our way back from Edinburgh after a 15 hour day. Having to listen to Rik recite the well known childs book ‘the gruffalo’ from memory, complete with voices,because he’s missing his kid and we need not to fall asleep in the truck on the way home.

The skin on my hands is so bad from loading vans and fixing cables and general warehouse activities combined with this horrendous brisk weather that they are like velcro. Mmmmm sexy velcro hands. Works for spiderman right? He develops a type of exoskeleton that spiders have that allows them attach themselves to smooth/vertical surfaces like walls and ceilings, which is effectively like a complex DNA-formed version of velcro. Omg maybe I can climb walls… I have just ripped my tights by just touching them though.

When you think your tour had gone pretty well and you realise you’ve left the microphone stands in the last venue, which happens to be about 150 miles away from base. I have had to deal with so much torment off people today. Least my boss didn’t kick my ass. Dear me. So careless, so unprofessional! God damn it!

Can’t believe how rammed my winter is. This time last year my first paid job was end of Feb after Christmas. Since going back on the 3rd Jan I’ve had 7 days off and can’t believe how close Feb is! All I need to do now is loose my last half a stone and that’s two of my New Years Resolutions done before feb!

My personal 2013:

Although freelance, gain as much work as if working full time- if not more

Reach my ultimate goal weight: Don’t eat shit food. EVEN ON TOUR!!! Burgers and pizzas are NOT A BREAKFAST FOOD, and if I don’t eat it’s no-ones business but my own. Stay strong and refuse fast foods/ takeaways and loose weight healthily. Stop purging as damaging effects are beginning to show.

Decipher who real friends are and ditch back-stabbing bastards

Make time for real friends, family, and love life around working ‘full time’

Start a blog/diary in various forms, to monitor and track my life (life goes so fast at the min I barely remember any of it) + review it

Rid negativity and be happy in life (the above should help if not fully form this)

Make a credible name for myself professionally. Become professional (12 months starting point) 

Re learn/ play more bass guitar

Learn something new (preferably something that will aid Live Sound) i.e. in depth electronics, specialise in rigging or Lighting designing, HGV licence.

Train my cat to hi five. Kelly’s cat hi fives… I want my cat to high five. IIf he can’t it’s ok… i guess. He’s and awesome little four-legged fur ball anyways.

I haven’t ever had anyone come to me and complain about my mixing so far. But I’ve been involved with arsey people and people who complain about equipment or to the engineers I work with just because they want to appear they know something or appear superior. I’m going to take several copies of this photo and hang it around the fort I build myself at front of house of monitor world :) 

I was lucky enough to work with a band I absolutely love last week. Testament played the Ritz in Manchester, I worked as change over crew and patching bitch for the monitor engineer lol He did me a foh mix in my monitor so I could listen to the gig at side of stage. Good times. Good gig! Chuck is terrifying in person, looks real mean. Lovely bloke though… Or will I get in trouble for saying that? Does it go against the image?

Have a lovely hotel, very posh in fact, done me well, food cost a bomb lol. Free wifi… can get on Tumblr, but not facebook, what’s the effin deal?

Check it! Last Saturday was the Real XS day festival in Manchester. This is the preparation vid, us getting everything ready. Me and Dom on Second stage foh. Check out the sand we had to cart all the gear over though! And kids kept digging up our multi cables! Wasn’t even funny! :) Enjoyable day though, glad I got to work it.

Doing my Invoices and taxes at the moment and a very good friends reminded me of this and it is totally apt. Love it!

Work mate made me into Albert Einstein with the use of PVC tape cos the colour of my hair was annoying him :)

Just got the confirmation and I’m going on my first tour on tuesday! quite excited, cos I’m well sad lol. It’s for World Netball Tournament for 4 dates, 4 locations, over 5 days, so only a mini tour… but it’s a start! There isn’t much happening at the moment anyways. Anything up to April is pretty much the dry period really (i’m sure people in this particular industry know this all too well) so good news for now…. role on summer and festival season!
